Dolls
My name is Kasia, and you have just arrived at the studio of Waldorf inspired dolls. My greatest passion is creating dolls which become companions for life. Each of them has its own individual character, is made of the highest quality natural materials and is worked out to the smallest detail. I have included photos of some of them below. Atelier
The Waldorf inspired dolls I create are handmade using the highest quality, natural materials. Their skin is 100% cotton knitted fabric. The inside is filled with sheep’s wool, thanks to which they are soft and warm, perfect for cuddling. I embroider each face by hand, and sew, carefully knit or crochet the clothes.
Cuddly dolls have simple faces and forms, leaving space for the owner’s imagination. You can grow up together and be friends for life. Their torso is mostly soft, only the head has additional elements and precisely elaborated facial expressions.
Waldorf inspired dolls are more elaborate. Their faces, torso and limbs have more detail and are created by needle felting. The hair is made of yarn, mohair, or longer animal hair.
Making dolls is a very laborious process; it takes about 2 weeks. Their mass production is impossible therefore each doll is different and unique. Each doll is packed in a cotton bag with embroidered logo “Molino”.
Our Story
The history of my studio began quite unusually… One day our family decided to move to the countryside. We packed up all our furniture, books, clothes… and moved from the block of flats in a city to the house in a village.
I have always been a creative soul, I enjoyed sewing and making my own jewellery. My imagination started working harder when I surrounded myself with nature. Adapting to the pulse of rural life without rushing, I started looking for unique toy alternatives for my daughter. I wanted her to play with objects that were safe and made of natural materials. This is how I came across the idea of Waldorf dolls. At the beginning, I made one, then another as a gift for friends… This idea turned into a passion that allows me to enter the world of magical childhood that I have already forgotten. I immerse myself in colours, imaginary stories and everything that excited me when I was a little girl. I enclose this joy in each doll and give it a name. The way of acquiring a doll is a ceremony. You can adopt one of the ready-made dolls, or suggest features and elements that you would like your dream doll to have. My work takes about 2 weeks. After this time the doll is ready for adoption.
